Join OLLI-Rutgers for a special day in Revolutionary NYC on Friday, October 9th! This fully guided day includes:

  • Bus from Rutgers Lifelong Learning Center to all locations and then back to the LLC.
  • On-board lecture by Bruce Tucker to discuss New York City during the Revolution.
  • Guided tour of The Occupied City exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York. This exhibit "transforms the Museum’s entire third floor into a 7,000-square-foot immersive journey through Revolutionary-era New York. Visitors will trace New York’s pivotal role in the conflict, from the first sparks of rebellion in 1763 to its emergence as the new nation’s first capital in 1790."
  • 3-course lunch at Fraunces Tavern. "known as the watering hole for many of the founding fathers & George Washington gathered his officers there to bid them farewell after the British Army left America at the end of the Revolutionary War."
  • Tour of the Fraunces Tavern Museum to "explore exhibitions focusing on America’s War for Independence and the preservation of early American history."

- Bus will depart at 7:45 AM from the Rutgers Lifelong Learning Center (LLC) 3 Rutgers Plaza, New Brunswick, NJ

- We return around 5:30 pm, traffic depending.

Parking will be available in the LLC lot.
