Join us for a private Gallery and Garden tour of the Met Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park, NYC. The Cloisters, devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe, is home to an extraordinary collection of treasured masterworks including the famed Unicorn Tapestries. Built using elements from European abbeys and cloisters, the museum houses medieval sculpture, stained glass and illuminated manuscripts set within tranquil gardens and atmospheric stone halls.
Please note, accessibility at The Met Cloisters is somewhat limited for wheelchair users and others who need step-free access due to the building's landmark status.
Prior to the tour, we are scheduled to have a 3-course lunch at The Bonnefont. Located a few minutes walk from the Cloisters, Bonnefont's fieldstone cottage was built in the 1930's for John D. Rockefeller and designed by the renowned Olmsted Brothers.
The bus leaves from the Rutgers Lifelong Learning Center (LLC), 3 Rutgers Plaza, New Brunswick, NJ.
We plan to depart from the LLC by 10:30 am and return, traffic depending, around 4:45 pm.
