Inclement Weather and Class Cancelations
We sometimes experience bad weather and a class needs to be canceled. We will email students and instructors, and extend a given session to accommodate the missed time.
Class Cancelations due to low enrollment
We sometimes have to cancel a course due to low enrollment. We will inform each enrollee of the cancellation via email before the first session of the course begins. Attendees of the canceled course will be given the option to choose another course or a refund.
Class Recordings
OLLI-Rutgers does not routinely record online classes. Students may ask an instructor to record a specific class, but instructors may decline. Course content is the instructor’s intellectual property, often developed over many hours, and some instructors may not wish to have their material recorded or shared. Please respect their decision.
Photography/Videography
To capture images and sounds of learners in action, we periodically photograph or film programs. By participating in New Brunswick (3 Rutgers Plaza) courses or trip/travel, you agree to provide Rutgers permission to record your image and/or voice, and you agree to provide all rights for Rutgers to use those images and recordings for educational, promotional, or other purposes that support our mission. If you do not want your image or voice recorded, please notify the photographer or videographer.
Course Refund Policy
All requests for a refund must be made in writing. To request a refund, email us at olliregistrations@lli.rutgers.edu.
Members: OLLI-RU Members can receive a full refund for courses that are 5 weeks or more by submitting a request in writing via emai before the start of the 4th class. For courses that are 2 weeks to 4 weeks in length, the request must be received before the start of the 2nd class. A member can receive a refund for a one-day class if we are notified in writing at least 48 hours before the class takes place.
Non-Members: A full refund for multi-week courses (2 weeks or more) will be provided if the request is received before the start of the second class. Non-members are not eligible to receive a refund for a one-day class.
Trips: There are no refunds for trip for members or non-members. You may transfer your registration to another person.
Code of Conduct
OLLI-Rutgers is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment that supports learning and social connection. As members of the Rutgers community, participants are subject to Rutgers University’s Student Code of Conduct and related policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment, disruptive behavior, and other inappropriate conduct.
These expectations apply to all OLLI courses, both in person and on Zoom. Lively discussion and differing viewpoints are encouraged, but all participants are expected to engage respectfully and civilly. Instructors are responsible for moderating discussion and maintaining an inclusive learning environment.
Concerns about conduct should be reported to OLLI-Rutgers staff at olliregistrations@lli.rutgers.edu. Violations may result in suspension or termination of membership, volunteer, or teaching privileges, or other action determined by OLLI-Rutgers.
